Burns (Baldwin) 704 vintage 60's bass in Abingdon, Oxfordshire for sale
Stunning vintage Baldwin (Burns) hollow body bass (short scale) which is a great looker and a fantastic player. Matching colour double bass style headstock. In remarkable condition for an instrument that is approaching its 50th birthday. Low serial number as shown in pic. Given the fantastic condition, and the fact it has all original parts and case, you can guarantee that the value of the instrument will appreciate over time. Comes with original lined Baldwin hard case. Recently set up by a pro guitar tech. The Baldwin 704 bass was made between in the late 60's by Burns. The 704 had an Italian made ES-335 style body, with the new style Baldwin neck made in the USA. The double trapeze tailpiece has a Baldwin "B" on it. Pickups are 2 double polepiece units. The basses were assembled in the UK. A couple of very minor dings, but in generally excellent condition. Previous owner has fixed a decorative cross to the long headstock which I think looks great, but could be removed using solvent if not to your taste.
